Matthew J. Wiles | Associate

Matt Wiles provides counseling to individuals and entities on a variety of business, employment, intellectual property and entertainment law issues. He also has extensive litigation experience in a wide variety of areas, and has represented clients in jury and bench trials and before administrative tribunals.

Matt was born in Akron, Ohio and attended Bowling Green State University on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law in the top ten of his class, served as an Executive Editor of the Law Review, and was an award-winning member of the Moot Court team.

Following graduation, Matt served for two years as the Confidential Law Clerk to the Honorable David N. Hurd, a federal trial court judge sitting in the Northern District of New York. Upon expiration of the clerkship term, Matt accepted a position in the Business Litigation department of one of the largest Ohio-based law firms. In 2009, he was named an Ohio Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor bestowed on less than three percent of the attorneys in the state under the age of 40.

Shortly thereafter, Matt relocated to San Diego and has been practicing law since passing the bar exam on his first try. He joined Solomon Ward in September 2010. In his spare time, Matt enjoys watching and participating in several sports, including basketball, football, tennis, and golf, and spending time with family, friends, and his Labrador retriever, Lucy.
