G. Scott Lutz | Senior Counsel
Scott Lutz represents businesses and individuals in a wide variety of corporate, finance and real estate transactions, including purchase and sales transactions, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, construction contracts, technology licensing and project finance.
Scott was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Furman University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude. He attended law school at the University of South Carolina, graduating in the top five percent of his class. While at law school, Scott was a Legal Writing Instructor as well as a member of the Order of the Coif, the South Carolina Law Review and the Moot Court Team. After law school, Scott moved to San Diego in 1989, where he joined the law firm of Gray Cary Ames and Frye (now DLA Piper Rudnick). After almost six years in private practice, Scott spent tens years practicing law in-house at several Fortune 500 companies, culminating with his appointment to General Counsel and Secretary of Ericsson Wireless, Inc. He has been a partner or of counsel with Solomon Ward since 2005. Beyond his professional interests, Scott has traveled extensively, visiting more than 50 countries. He also enjoys golfing, skiing, scuba diving, and recreational shooting.
